New Magic League Starts
We’re playing Magic the Gathering Friday nights at 7 pm, and now we’re keeping score! If you play Magic, bring your cards (or borrow ours) and play in our League! Check out the Magic League tab on the right side of the screen to see our Magic League standings and rules and see who’s winning!
To play in the League, you must sign up with us and play Magic games here at Big Robot on Friday nights. We’ll get you on the list, track your points, and each month declare a winner – who gets a FREE MAGIC BOOSTER PACK! So drop in and summon some wraiths and kavus and a Shamen and do battle!

Halo 3 Tournament Held at Big Robot Game Cafe
Big Robot Game Cafe, the social video gaming cafe in Tipp City, Ohio, held an exciting and competitive Halo 3 Tournament on Saturday, May 24th. Seven local teams of two players each paired off for 2-versus-2 action. The double-elimination tournament ensured that every team had two chances to make it to the finals. Competition began at 3:30 and ran for 2 hours until five teams were eliminated.
The competition was fierce as the final two teams, Team 3 and Team 7, faced off on big screen 42-inch HDTVs, trading the lead back and forth, playing a best 2 out of 3 final round. As spectators watched, Team 3, consisting of Dan Swartz and Michael Palaez, finally won, taking first place. Their prizes included trophies commemorating their win at the Big Robot Game Cafe, along with T-shirts. Second place won T-shirts as well, and the top three places split a cash prize.
Big Robot Game Cafe opened in Tipp City in March. Offering PC and video gaming by the hour, customers are invited to enjoy state-of-the-art gaming in a relaxed, coffee-house atmosphere. Players pay by the hour – $5 an hour for individual game stations and our social stations, which can accommodate up to four players on our HD 42″ LCD screens. Big Robot also offers an upstairs lounge for parents to relax, a card-gaming room, and an exclusive room for our VIP-level members. They also offer snacks, drinks and retail sales, including video games and video game accessories, heroclix, collectible card games, and the area’s biggest selection of Legos.
Another Halo 3 2 versus 2 Tournament will be held at Big Robot Game Cafe on June 21st. The Cafe is located at 114 East Main Street in beautiful downtown Tipp City. The Tournament will begin at noon and costs $20 per team to enter. Cash and merchandise prizes will be given out for first and second place finishers – come down and play some Halo against the best players around! 5/28 (IV), 6/2 (IV, TH), Ran 6/4 in IV.

It will be $15 on the day of the tournament and we will allow a maximum of 20 teams. We have 7 paid teams right now, so get in here. Also, every paid team receives ONE FREE HOUR to practice. This hour expires on the day of the tournament, so if you’re a paid team, get in here and get some practice!

The top three finishers won cash prizes and our #1 won one of our new Big Robot t-shirts. Stop in and get one today!

Guitar Hero 3 Tournament SATURDAY!
Don’t forget – the Guitar Hero 3 Tournament is today, 3 pm to 7 pm. Details:
- May 10, 3 to 7 pm
- $15 per person entry fee at the door ($10 if you paid before May 10)
- Any ages are allowed
- A MAXIMUM of 30 paid people will be admitted into this tournament
- PLAYERS WILL PLAY ON EXPERT ONLY
Tournament players will vote on and select three songs for all participants to play.Contestants will be randomly paired up to duel in Pro Faceoff mode on Expert. Players will duel each other on the three selected songs and scores will be tracked and individual wins will not matter – the top 12 score totals will move on to Round Two. It’s $10 if you pay ahead and $15 on the door. Drop by and pay ahead and save! We currently have 31 people signed up. If you are not listed below, you are not signed up yet – get in here!

New CALENDAR Page Added!
Now you can see what events and special days are coming up at Big Robot! We do WoW Wednesdays and Friday Night Magic and we have a couple of Tournaments coming up, so I figured we needed a public calendar – check out our new Calendar Page! It shows all the upcoming events and let’s people make comments! We’re also starting up Movie Nights – the movies are free, so stop by and see what’s playing. And the schedule is always being updated, so check back often!
Magic Tonight!
Friday nights are Magic: The Gathering Nights at Big Robot, so dig out those cards and come down to play! We’re inviting folks from all over, so swing by, team up, and duel until Midnight! There’s nothing to do in Tipp City anyway, so why not come out and make some new friends! As we start to attract more folks to our regular Friday Night event, we’ll get tournaments and cut-throat games going, leading up to getting an OFFICIAL SANCTION from Wizards of the Coast!
But we can only get the official “Friday Night Magic” status (with the free cards, booster packs, and posters) if people show up. So GET DOWN HERE TONIGHT! And don’t forget your cards! If you need cards, they sell them at Heroes for Sale in Vandalia or at any local Target or Wal-Mart. See you tonight!
