New Summer Hours!!! And NEW PRICING! We’re CRAZY!
FINALLY!! Summer is here, and so are OUR NEW SUMMER HOURS!! Okay, so we’re a little insane for gaming, but summer is here and there are SO MANY games to play! Come on in and “Play by the Hour” as we expand our hours and the number of days we’re open:
- Monday: 11 am to 9 pm – WE’RE OPEN ON MONDAYS FOR SUMMER (starting June 23) I know – it’s crazy!
- Tuesday: 11 am to 9 pm – Casual gaming night – Heroclix, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh
- Wednesday: 11 am to 9 pm – World of Warcraft Wednesdays – play all day (11 in the morning to 9 at night) for our $10 all day pass!
- Thursday: 11 am to 9 pm – Casual gaming night – Heroclix, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh
- Friday: 11 am to midnight – Friday Night Magic League – come in, play, we’ll keep score and post the result on the website. Monthly prize!
- Saturday: 11 am to midnight – Stay up late with us! Movie nights, Dungeons and Dragons, Heroclix, whatever!
AND OUR PRICES WENT DOWN! Everything’s $5 an hour per person now, so come in and enjoy our massive game collection on our big screens for only $5 an hour per person. Rules: Everyone pays but the fourth player on a multiplayer game is free. Groups take priority, so if you’re enjoying a nice solo Halo session and a group comes in to play Rock Band, you’re going to get bumped.
Summer Rock Band League Forming
Get the Band Together! Pick four players, pick a band name, then get in to Big Robot Game Cafe in downtown Tipp City and play Rock Band! Join us for a 10-week Summer Rock Band League, playing one song a week for the highest number of points your band can achieve! Point totals for the 10 songs (one per week) will determine the winning band, which will receive T-shirts and VIP Memberships for the whole band – that’s a $260 value! The second place team will receive T-shirts. Rock Band is very popular four-player video game that lets people sing and play drums and guitars together. Here are the details:
- Each band pays $40 to participate in the League
- Each band must have a maximum of four players and a Band Name. Players can play any instrument the want and switch it up as much as they want.
- Big Robot picks ONE SONG TITLE per week for the bands to play. Song titles will not be announced in advance.
- Each band comes in during that week and plays the song up to three times. The highest score on the song is recorded.
- Bands MUST play that song during it’s week to get credit for the song.
- Standings will be maintained on the website and in the store – check the website often to see how your favorite Band is doing.
Signups are starting now for the League, which starts JUNE 16 and runs through AUGUST 23. Winners will be announced August 25th and prizes handed out on August 27th. Send us an email to reserve your spot! 6/8 (IV, TH).
Attention All Gamers!
Do you play Heroclix or Magic the Gathering or Pokemon? Do you and your friends get together over Dungeons and Dragons, fighting monsters and rolling dice? Do you enjoy a great poker game or some old-school board games? Big Robot Game Cafe, the social video gaming cafe in Tipp City, Ohio, is inviting gamers of all sorts to enjoy our recently-finished Gaming Room, a large room in the back of the Cafe designed for card gamers and Dungeons and Dragons players. Affectionately known as the “Map Room,” this room of tables and chairs is set aside for board, card, and tabletop gamers.
Recently, Big Robot has also started designating specific nights for particular games, so if you see a game you already play or are interested in learning, drop by! There is usually someone here playing the games that would be available to show the ropes. And, of course, there are no charges to play here – bring your own materials or, in some cases, borrow ours to learn how to play!
Our Game Nights include:
- Wednesday Night – World of Warcraft Card Gamers are invited to bring in your cards and play! We also offer a $10 all-night-pass for Word of Warcraft, the award-winning MMO. Drop by and enjoy both!
- Friday Night Magic – drop by at 7 and play all night! Magic the Gathering, the premier and original collectible card game, was invented in 1998 and is still going strong after 10 years. A new Magic League has just formed where we keep track of wins and losses on Friday nights and post the leaders on the Big Robot Game Cafe website. The leader at the end of the month will win a Magic booster pack
- Saturday Nights – Dungeons and Dragons groups are invited to make Big Robot your new home-away-from-home. DNDers are invited on any nights, but a new Saturday night group is forming now.
- And on other nights, bring in your cards and enjoy casual card gaming such as Pokemon or Maple Story, or bring in your Heroclix and start a group! If we get enough folks in here and interested in playing, we’ll designate nights for any game that is popular!
Big Robot Game Cafe opened in Tipp City in March. Offering PC and video gaming by the hour, customers are invited to enjoy state-of-the-art gaming in a relaxed, coffee-house atmosphere. Players pay by the hour – $5 an hour for individual game stations and our social stations, which can accommodate up to four players on our HD 42? LCD screens. Big Robot also offers an upstairs lounge for parents to relax, a card-gaming room, and an exclusive room for our VIP-level members.
