Cody took the prize again for July, winning a record 45 games in the month of July against other local Magic the Gathering players.  Games played on Mondays and Fridays at Big Robot Game Cafe count towards the monthly totals.  Cody has a great artifact deck and a couple other good decks, but he’s always willing to take time out from gaming to teach new players the ins and outs of the game, which can be complicated.

Drop by to play – we have introductory card decks for new players, allowing them to learn the game in a matter of minutes, and booster packs, which allow more experienced players to “pump up” their existing decks or explore some of the new game dynamics introduced with the latest edition, Eventide, which was released on Friday, July 25th.

The new August Standings will start up on August 1st with all games being played in Big Robot counting towards the overall monthly totals.  Drop in and play!  Big Robot Game Cafe is located at 114 East Main Street in beautiful downtown Tipp City, Ohio.

Pre or post-patch, that game didn’t work. Hopefully having BioWare on board will make it better…EA to Play in Knights of the Old Republic

Risk Tournament – Saturday Noon to 5!

We’re having a Risk Tournament on Saturday from noon to 5 – drop by and play!  It’s $5 to play in the tournament but free if you bring your board!  Winner will receive a Big Robot Game Cafe t-shirt.  All participants will receive coupons for “buy two get one free” hours at the Cafe.  See you there!

What is Risk?
Risk is a commercial strategic board game, produced by Parker Brothers (now a division of Hasbro). It was invented by French movie director Albert Lamorisse, and originally released in 1957, as La Conquête du Monde (The Conquest of the World), in France.

Risk is a turn-based game for two to six players, and is played on a board depicting a stylized Napoleonic-era political map of the Earth, divided into forty-two territories, which are grouped into six continents. Players control armies, with which they attempt to capture territories from other players. The goal of the game is to control all the territories—or “conquer the world”—through the elimination of the other players. Using area movement, Risk ignores realistic limitations, such as the vast size of the world, and the logistics of long campaigns.

Mana Potions are Back!!

mana-pot.jpgMana Energy Potions are no longer AFK!  We got our shipment of the new Mana Potions and have plenty in stock!  They look great – all blue and glowy.  Big Robot Game Cafe is the ONLY PLACE in OHIO to buy these, so drop by today to get your potions at the same old price.

WTF is a Mana Energy Potion?
Mana Energy Potion is the premium energy shot made by gamers for gamers. It’s for long nights of gaming, partying, and the longer mornings that follow. It has lots of vitamins, no sugar, and no aftercrash.

What is it going to do to me?
It will bump up your mana to +160 (real world humans have about 100 mana, by the way). It’s 5-8 hours of smooth, jitter-free energy. When it comes to caffeine content, this potent shot is equivalent to about two 8-ounce Red Bulls® or four cups of crappy office coffee.

How big is a Mana Energy Potion?
It is an energy shot, not an energy drink. The bottle is a 40mL serving which is around the same size as those little bottles of booze served on airplanes. At only 20 calories, it won’t weigh you down while you are casting spells. It will also keep you away from the can as opposed to guzzling the usual barrel of yellow syrup. Don’t let the size fool you- even drinking half a bottle at time is quite effective.
